Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic as well as Ilkay Silk, an multi-talented actor as well as a producer, director and educator, playwright and Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk's dad is from Britain and her mother, an Turkish Cypriot English expat. She remembers watching her mother working in rehearsals for plays. In her early years, Anna played in commercials for a number of companies. Anna moved to Toronto in the fall of 1999 to further her acting career. Then, she settled to Los Angeles (California) over the following decade. Seth Cooperman, whom she had met in an Los Angeles actors' workshop back in 2007, became her partner in 2009. Anna changed her religion to Judaism at the beginning of January 2011, and they renewed their vows during a Jewish wedding in Fredericton.
