Zoe Saldana (born June 19 1978) was born to Asalia Saldana & Aridio Saldana in Passaic New Jersey. Her father is Dominican, and her mother Puerto Rican. Her family was from Queens, New York. After she turned 10, she and her parents relocated to the Dominican Republic. They lived in the Dominican Republic for seven more years. Zoe found a great desire to perform dances when in the United States. Her first training was at ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy to study ballet and a variety of different dance styles.
