Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, at Locust Ridge Tenn. She lived with twelve other kids. Her imaginative mind was a great way to get away from the harsh realities of everyday life. She was writing songs before she could write or read. After getting her first instrument at age of eight, she started to perform at radio stations in Knoxville, Tennessee. In the same year, she released her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. At the age of 16, she was able to establish herself within the school community but her goals were bigger. The year 1964 was the day following her graduation from high-school the singer moved to Nashville. Her first charting hits with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host in the late '60s, was looking for a female singer for his program. Parton accepted the job and in the year 1967, she signed to RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. In 1974, she resigned from The Wagoner's Show due to the popularity of her own songs such as Joshua Coats from Many Colors or Jolene was surpassing their joint albums. Parton recorded I Will Always Love You for Wagoner following their split. It made it to No. First time, in 1974.
